Quicknote: Can’t Reform Chaos

This is exactly the sort of mistake I was worried the writers were going to make without Lauren’s classic-minded guidance. My experience with her work is that she has a focus on strong character writing and sound psychological principles.

Fluttershy was an ineffective mouse again, and while I except that a mother’s glare may impact a gang member, Discord is a gang fight. One does not simply tame chaos. Just ask a card counter – they function within the boundaries of chaos to their advantage. Fluttershy is not a card counter.

They can do it because over long periods of time chaos has been found to be ordered and predictable. Interesting, huh?

Does that make taming Discord possible? Even by the episode’s admission the answer is “no”. The best chance would be … dare I suggest it: Pinkie Pie.

Pinkie is the card counter, but not as you see her in Season 3. In Season 3 she lacks the purpose that made her awesome. “Swarm of the Century” would not have xanax no prescription been possible without that quality – the clarity of vision to do what nopony else could.

MikeyMonster likes to pair Pinkie with Discord, and it’s not difficult to see why. She’s the bright star who makes no sense to anyone, even herself. What she has is friendship – joy – as her guide. Ultimately, love gives her purpose.

DHS is demonstrating a lack of understanding here.

Which is why it doesn’t surprise me at all that Rarity has been left out. She’s an insufferable character, if you don’t know how to handle her. Her unselfishness is the redeeming quality she possesses. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Hasbro set her aside – because marketing is the exploitation of selfishness.

Can’t very well make the rich look bad now, can we? In Sweet and Elite, we see what she has to give up, what risks she has to take for friendship. Make no mistake friends, it is a choice.

Here’s hoping there’s no Season 4.
